Screen printing for staff tees and aprons
Screen print is the cheapest way to put a big logo on 48 or more shirts. Battle Born Clothing prints in-house with plastisol, water-based and discharge inks and cures on a conveyor dryer.
What it costs
| Spec | Per piece |
|---|---|
| 1 color on dark, flash included | $4.59 |
| 1 color on light | $4.34 |
| Each screen (per color) | $20.00 one-time |
| More colors, locations or quantities | Quoted per job |
A Port & Company PC61 tee is $6.04 blank, so a one-color front print is $10.63 each at 48 and front plus back is $15.22 plus $40 in screens. No hard minimum, but 48 pieces is where screen print beats the alternatives.
Ink choices
- Plastisol: opaque, durable, the default for kitchen tees.
- Water-based: soft hand on light cotton; good for cafe and winery staff shirts.
- Discharge: removes the dye on dark cotton and replaces it; the vintage bar-merch look.
Screen print on aprons
We print aprons, but we recommend embroidery for anything washed daily. Screen print works for event aprons, one-season patios and big simple logos where cost per piece matters most.
Artwork
Vector art separated by color is ideal. A 300 dpi PNG works for one-color prints. Each color is one screen at $20.
Questions
Is there a minimum for screen printing?
No hard minimum. We recommend 48 pieces or more because screens are a fixed cost and the per-piece rate is quoted at 48.
Can you print the same logo on tees and aprons in one job?
Yes, if the print size is the same. One set of screens covers both; we quote the apron rate per job.
